There are many fascinating aspects about Borneo. It is the third largest island in the world. It has a rich ecosystem – home to one of the oldest rainforests in the world and various flora and fauna not found anywhere else. It has huge deposits of natural resources such as timber, precious metals, minerals and oil and gas. It is also the only island in the world that is shared by three separate nations – Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia.
Borneo also has the potential to become a major economic hub is Southeast Asia. Already it is home to many thriving businesses. And with Indonesia building their new capital city Nusantara on Kalimantan, Borneo is set for even greater things.
The IBR Borneo Awards will honour the best of corporations and government agencies that are based in or have operations in Borneo – whether it is Sarawak, Kalimantan or Brunei.
