The second-most populous country and the seventh-largest country by land area, India is one of the world’s fastest growing emerging economies, and this is reflected in it being part of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) grouping It was also one of the first countries to establish diplomatic ties with Malaysia, and both countries share close historical, cultural and economies ties. Presently India is one of Malaysia’s top 10 trading partners, with Malaysian exports to India valued at more than RM30 billion in 2020.
The Indian High Commission in Malaysia wanted to enhance the reputation of Indian businesses as potential partners for Malaysian corporations, as well as boost trade and investment ties with Malaysia. In addition, the High Commission also wanted to profile Indian national leaders to Malaysian corporate decision makers.
