About The Client
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) is responsible for conducting Malaysia’s multilateral and bilateral relations, namely matters related to political relations, economic affairs, security matters, and social and cultural promotion. It is also entrusted with promoting and protecting Malaysia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national interests, facilitating other Ministries and Agencies in their international engagement, and providing consular services and assistance to Malaysians overseas.
Objective
MOFA wanted a way to reach out to effectively reach out to both internal and external stakeholders, and in doing so help enhance knowledge and appreciation among Malaysians of MOFA’s international advocacy efforts as well as promote Malaysia to foreign partners.
WHY THE IBR ASIA GROUP
The IBR Asia Group’s experience in working with Ministries and other government bodies, as well as our strong networking with foreign missions in Malaysia, resulted in MOFA appointing us to help with their publicity and outreach efforts.
WHAT WE DID AND HOW WE DID IT

Produced a commemorative publication on 60 years of diplomacy in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of Malaysia’s independence.

Showcased the Secretary-General of MOFA, Datuk Seri Shahrul Ikram Yaakob, in our proprietary business magazine International Business Review, where he spoke on MOFA’s efforts to promote Malaysia in the international arena.

Produced a video of aforementioned interview and uploaded it to our IBR TV YouTube channel.

Produced an electronic newsletter containing said video and blasted it via our proprietary CORETEXT electronic direct mail (EDM) system to 6,000 government, corporate and media recipients in Malaysia, the Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East.

Datuk Seri Shahrul Ikram was also a presenter at the International Business Review ASEAN Awards 2020 held at World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur on 2 April 2021.
RESULTS

Provided a platform for networking as the International Business Review ASEAN Awards was attended by 500 guests from Ministries, GLCs and corporates in Malaysia, as well as diplomatic decision-makers
✔️
Generated awareness and appreciation of MOFA’s work in building crucial bilateral and multilateral relations
